Author Event: Abby Hanlon & Liz Garton Scanlon

Celebrating our favorite young rascals! Abby Hanlon and Liz Garton Scanlon know all about the charm of spirited protagonists. Dory Fantasmagory and Bibsy Cross have found their way into the hearts of so many emerging readers, inspiring a love of reading alongside assurance that there is no such thing as a child who is “too much.” Old Town Books, in partnership with the Alexandria Library, is delighted to announce that on Saturday, October 4, fans will have a chance to hear these two beloved authors in a conversation moderated by our children’s buyer, Melissa LaSalle (@thebookmommy), at the beautiful Nannie J. Lee Memorial Rec Center theater. There will be guaranteed shenanigans, lots of behind-the-scenes scoop into the creation of Dory and Bibsy, some fun visuals, and a chance for kids to ask questions. Following the conversation, families will have a chance to get their books personalized and pose for pictures with the authors!

With your general admission ticket, you will receive a pre-signed hardcover copy of Dory Fantasmagory: Center of the Universe (ahead of its release to the public!) and a pre-signed paperback copy of Bibsy Cross & the Time Capsule. You have the option to purchase up to two companion tickets. The authors’ full series will also be available for purchase at the event.
