Join us at Te Puna Mahara - Cromwell Memorial Events Centre for a memorable evening of exceptional food, remarkable stories and community spirit.

Hosted by Moreish Kitchen, On the Edge of Possible brings together a three-course shared-plate dinner, an arrival drink and an inspiring presentation from one of New Zealand’s most accomplished mountaineers, Lydia Bradey ONZM.

The theme of the evening is Embracing Opportunity, recognising the courage it takes to step beyond what feels comfortable, pursue an ambitious goal and make the most of an opportunity when it appears.

AN EXTRAORDINARY GUEST SPEAKER
In 1988, Lydia Bradey became the first woman in the world to climb Mount Everest without supplementary oxygen. She remains the only New Zealander to have achieved this and has completed six Everest ascents, including five as a guide. Lydia was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for her services to mountaineering.
Through humour, honesty and extraordinary real-life experiences, Lydia shares what she has learned about fear, resilience, risk, decision-making and the determination required to keep moving toward a difficult goal. Her story is not simply about reaching the summit—it is about embracing opportunity, taking ownership of your choices and discovering what may be possible.

SUPPORTING LOTTIE’S NEXT OPPORTUNITY
This special event is raising funds for Lottie Faulkner, a 12-year-old U14 alpine ski racer from Cromwell.
Lottie has already won the 2024 New Zealand Interfield Ski Racing Series and the 2024 Upper Austria Ski Racing Series. In 2025, she was selected to represent New Zealand as part of the national youth squad, representing New Zealand internationally. Her long-term dream is to represent New Zealand at the 2034 Winter Olympics.
Lottie now has the opportunity to continue her development by training, studying and racing overseas during the Northern Hemisphere winter. This would provide more time on snow, experienced coaching, international competition and the chance to train alongside other ambitious young athletes.
All profits from the event will go toward Lottie’s Northern Hemisphere ski training and racing expenses.

YOUR EVENING INCLUDES
Guests will enjoy a three-course shared-plate dinner created by Kimberley Scott and the award-winning Moreish Kitchen team.
Kimberley trained at Le Cordon Bleu, the renowned culinary institution founded in Paris and respected worldwide for its classical technique, precision and exacting standards. Her training shaped a lasting respect for ingredients and a food philosophy centred on allowing quality produce to shine and creating dishes that bring people together.
Kimberley's generous, seasonal style is perfectly suited to shared dining, creating an experience that feels relaxed, welcoming and special.
Moreish Kitchen was recently recognised at the New Zealand Wedding Vendor Awards, taking out the national award for Best Catering, an achievement that reflects the team’s dedication to exceptional food, thoughtful service and memorable events.

This promises to be an uplifting evening for anyone inspired by adventure, courage, resilience and personal growth, or who simply enjoys outstanding food, remarkable stories and supporting talented young people from our community.
