All I want for Christmas is a container search! Get in the holiday spirit with a twist on the 100 container challenge. With 100 holiday-themed containers, your dog is sure to find lots of hides and maybe even a present with their name on it!
All levels welcome!
Teams do not need to be registered with any organization.
One dog per handler per run
All teams will run the same search.
Teams may run FEO, 2nd dog FEO must run after competing dog
Dogs will crate out of vehicles.
A schedule will be sent one week prior. Teams will be scheduled in groups and may leave after their run.
Prizes can be picked up at Do Over Dog Training after the event.
Every team will take home a holiday gift!
Prizes for Top Teams! 0-2 Years Experience and 2+ Years Experience
Rules of the Event:
Search will be run on or off leash.
Each hide is worth 10 points
Odors used will be Birch, Anise, Clove
One dog per handler per run
5 minutes with a 30-second warning (handlers can self-time)
Unknown number of hides
Distractors (food & toy) may be present
Incorrect alert calls allowed (fault points will be applied)
Multiple faults may be given
Finish call stops the clock
Faults:
Each incorrect alert (5 fault points)
Handler dropping food (1 fault point each occurrence)
Disrupting the search area (1 fault point each occurrence)
Repeat alert on a hide (1 fault point each occurrence)
Repeat alert an incorrect container (3 fault points each occurrence)
Aggressive alert/destruction of a container (3 fault points each occurrence)
Disqualifying Faults:
Any harsh handling or correction of their dog by handler
Dog eliminates or vomits in the search area
Unsportsmanlike conduct
