English book club Frankenstein

We will comment 📚 Frankenstein written✍🏽 by Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin (known as Mary Shelley, as many English speakers like to turn women into the property of men💩). All the time in English 🇬🇧, moderated by an English teacher holder of C2 certificate ✅.

You can bring your cup of tea 🍵 or mate 🧉, if you want. Let’s enjoy the masterwork of this UK 🇬🇧 writer, mother of science-fiction. She wrote this masterpiece when she was 18 years old and beat Byron and Polidori in the year without summer (1816) when they arranged a challenge to compose the scariest story. She was the mother of 5️⃣, but the first died after being born, 3️⃣ died before being born and only her son Percy survived. The first wife of her lover committed suicide and this death chase them all their lives. In those times, women ♀️ were condemned to be pariah if they followed their desires and had their own criteria, just like the creature from her book.
