Homebody (Album Release) w/ Sweet Roll, Nara Visa

Homebody emerged from reconnecting a friendship through music during the global shutdown. Each living in different cities, Wyatt, Kendall and Marshall sent recordings over dropbox and, in 2022, released an EP which caught the ear of indie playlists BIRP.fm and Obscure Sound. Since then, Homebody has continued to record and tour, including opening for Brainstory, releasing a handful of singles and establishing a growing community of listeners with their lofi indie sound. After 3 years of recording across the country in various studios, bedrooms, and basements and a wildly successful kickstarter, Homebody's debut album “The Drop” is ready.
"The Drop" is a concept album that tells the story of two disillusioned lovers trying to navigate a new relationship in a world that's tilting on societal collapse. Each song builds a part of the narrative as the characters experience falling in love in a time of existential despair and the reckoning that follows. Musically, the backdrop for each song is different, touching on indie rock, psychedelia, and bedroom pop, with splashes of soul, math rock, and songwriter woven together. Homebody's usual lofi style of recording is now intertwined with more hifi studio takes, creating a collage of different aesthetics including string and flute arrangements.

The album features contributions from Jonah Minkus (Lucrecia Dalt, Zivi and the Rocks), Kate Koller (Yucky Star, Laska), Willa Edwards (Willajay), Rayna Torres (Sweet Roll, Dollar Store Queen), Margaret the Martian and mastered by Grammy-nominated engineer Simon Lancelot (Mk.gee, Dijon, Hovvdy).
