Celebrate Labor Day Weekend and one of our favorite New Mexico traditions of green chile season!

Come experience chile season right in the field. Pick your own green chile straight from the plants, have it roasted on-site, or stop by our Farm Stand for plenty of fresh, pre-picked chile. Spend the day at Big Jim Farms with FREE: live music, cooking demonstrations & tastings, farm field trips, kids’ activities and more. We’ll also have local vendors, farm animal encounters, U-Pick flowers, salsa-making and flower-arranging classes, photo areas and plenty of fresh produce for sale.

We're excited to welcome the New Mexico Chile Pepper Institute at New Mexico State University to the farm! The Institute is dedicated to chile pepper research and education and is an incredible resource for growers, gardeners and chile lovers.
Learn directly from the experts about growing chile, different varieties, heat levels, plant care and the history and importance of chile to New Mexico.

We normally charge for our educational farm field trips, but during Green Chile Fest we're offering them FREE to the community!
Designed for children of all ages, the experience includes five hands-on learning stations led by our farmers. Kids will learn about growing food, pollinators, soil, plants, farm animals and where their food comes from.
