- **Event Description**: Join us this June for Rhythms of the Diaspora, a free community drum & dance series exploring the traditions of West Africa and Cuba through live drumming, movement, storytelling, and community participation.

Made possible through the support of Albany County and Troy Savings Bank Music Hall.

THURSDAYS IN JUNE

Senior Rhythm & Movement Class
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

Community Drum & Dance Class
6:00 PM – 7:30 PM

No experience necessary.

Whether you’re completely new to drumming and dance or have years of experience, this series is designed to be welcoming, interactive, and accessible to all.

Participants will explore:
• Live drumming
• Rhythm fundamentals
• West African dance
• Afro-Cuban dance
• Call-and-response traditions
• Community music-making

Free and open to the public.

Limited drums available courtesy of Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. Instruments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
