Resilience and Sustainability: from a cultural perspective
This stunning landscape – Australia – is the place where we all work and play on Country and in its waters.

It is vital that we take the time to respect and appreciate Australian Aboriginal peoples connection, as they have cared for Country and key bodies of waters for thousands of years. It is the implementation of cultural practices, via culturally sound knowledge and methodologies over millenia, that provide healthy Country and waters. Evidence demonstrates that for more than 60,000+ years Australian Aboriginal peoples, and aboriginal peoples on a global scale, have survived based on traditions and practices that have been shared via intergenerational knowledge transfers, and actively fulfilled over the generations. 

In an era of seeing and experiencing the impact that humans have had on the environment, especially with things such as climate change, there is a need to further understand human to nature relationships, especially from a cultural practice and knowledge perspective.


This talk is part of the Green Fair on the Square community sustainability event.
