Join Athens Sunrise Rotary for the 9th Annual Paddle for Polio Plus!

This year, we're teaming up with Raccoon Creek Outfitters and adding a new twist to Paddle for Polio Plus. We'll meet at Raccoon Creek Outfitters headquarters and basecamp on U.S. Route 50 and enjoy a leisurely float and paddle down the infamous Raccoon Creek. We'll celebrate with food, entertainment, and prizes back at basecamp.

Paddle for Polio Plus is a unique fundraiser aimed to raise awareness and support for Rotary's quest to completely eradicate polio from the world. The initiative is over 3 decades strong and Rotary is #thisclose to complete eradication. Only a few countries continue to report new polio cases. We're almost there, but the final push is more critical than ever. It is estimated that is will take about $1 Billion to finish the job.

Athens Sunrise Rotary aims to raise $2000 at #paddle2025, which will eventually vaccinate 3600 children thanks to a triple match by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The event is family-friendly and will feature music, free food and tons of games and activities for the entire family!

More Important Information

#Paddle2025 participants are guests of Athens Sunrise Rotary at Raccoon Creek Outfitters and Raccoon Creek. Boats, PFDs, and paddles will be provided. All participants are required to follow directions from event organizers.

Food is free for participants and observers.
