President, Dr. Brendan Dowd and the New York State Dental Association welcomes ASDA District 2 Students to NYSDA Advocacy Day!
On Monday, February 11th, there will be a combined round table meeting at the Albany Hilton in the Hudson Ballroom from 2-5 p.m. This meeting will be held to discuss and distribute talking points on two or three key issues to present to your legislators. Then from 6-7 p.m. there will be a cocktail reception at Chambers in the Albany Hilton Hotel followed immediately with a group dinner in Kelsey’s Ballroom. Everything should wrap up by 9 p.m.
On Tuesday morning, February 12th, at 7:45 a.m. everyone will meet in the lobby of the Albany Hilton and we will walk over to the Legislative Office Building (LOB), where there will be a continental breakfast on level 3 of the LOB from 8-9 a.m. Immediately following breakfast the scheduled legislative visitations will take place between 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. These visitations will be pre-arranged by our Governmental Affairs staff and NYSDA Lobbyist, Roy Lasky. The students will be paired up with either a NYSDA Trustee, a Council on Governmental Affairs member or an EDPAC Board member. The final schedule of visits may not be available until you check into the meeting on Monday. Boxed lunches will be available on level 3 of the LOB (where breakfast was) between 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The students will have time to hold their own debriefing in Hearing Room A on level 2 of the LOB at 2:00 p.m.
