GOOD TROUBLE LIVES ON! March with Us in Albany on July 17th to Defend Democracy!
In the spirit of Congressman John Lewis, and on the 5th anniversary of his passing, Indivisible ADK/Saratoga is calling all activists and allies to join us for "Good Trouble Lives On!" on July 17th, from 6 PM - 8 PM!
This is a national day of nonviolent action to respond to the attacks posed on our civil and human rights by the current administration. From voter suppression bills like the SAVE Act to the criminalization of protest, our civil and human rights are under attack. But we know the truth: in America, the power lies with the people!
We are proud to partner with a powerful coalition of Black groups and Capital Region Indivisibles, including NAACP - Regional, Senate for Law & Justice, Alice Moore Cultural Center, Saratoga Black Life Matters, Palestinian Rights, Black Activist Directive, and League of Women Voters.
What to expect: Indivisible Albany is working on getting a permit for us to march across the Henry Johnson Bridge into Washington Park, where there will be powerful speakers and inspiring music. This is more than a protest; it's a moral reckoning and a continuation of the movement Lewis helped lead.
Please note: Our actions are rooted in nonviolence. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation.
