The New Mexico Museum of Space History invites families to embark on a journey through time and space to meet HAM the Astrochimp—the world’s first space chimpanzee—and his troop of stellar “astrochimps”!

Join us on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM inside the New Horizons Dome Theater & Planetarium for this month’s Science Saturday—a hands-on, family-friendly event all about chimps, courage, and early space exploration.

? Enjoy a short, kid-friendly overview of great apes, early space medicine, and the vital role chimpanzees played at the Holloman Aeromedical Center. Then, get creative with great-ape-themed crafts designed for students in grades 2–7. Bring the whole family—drop in anytime and have fun learning together!
