The event is free and open to the public on the grounds of the Society's Perkins Stone Mansion, the home of Akron's and Summit County's founding family, starting at 11 a.m.100 attendees will receive a free scarlet maple tree to plant at their home courtesy of Davey Tree. Thank you to Jeff Parson, Davey Tree and Summit County Historical Society board director, for coordinating this opportunity that will include instructions for planting the tree.Greta Johnson, Assistant Chief of Staff, Director of Communications and Public Information Officer for the County of Summit, will be the program emcee.
