The United Gurung Buddhist Organization of America (UGBOA), in collaboration with the International Council of Gurung Buddhism (ICGB), has remained dedicated to preserving Gurung traditional cultural values and practices based on the Panchashila and Buddhist faith. Continuing this mission, we are honored to host the grand Tamu (Gurung) Lhosar in Akron, Ohio, in host coordination with the Gurung Buddhist Community of Akron.
This year, we joyfully gather to welcome the Year of the Horse and bid farewell to the Year of the Snake. We hope this celebration strengthens our shared religious and cultural values, helps transmit our traditions to future generations, and keeps them alive.
We warmly invite you and every Gurung to join us in celebrating our festivals, supporting our initiatives, and fostering an environment of mutual respect and understanding through unity and collaboration.
We can ensure that the beauty of Gurung cultural heritage and the wisdom of Buddhism continue to flourish worldwide. Together, we can strengthen the bonds that unite us as a global Gurung Buddhist family.
