Participants will receive an up close, hands-on experience that provides critical insight into the world of dementia. This program is invaluable to people who are caring for a person with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia. When someone is diagnosed with dementia, it affects everyone: the family, friends, and professional caregivers. The Dementia Tour® Experience helps shed light on some of the responsive behaviours exhibited by individuals living with dementia. Please ensure you wear socks and closed toe footwear for this event.FAQsWhat can I expect?Participants go through the Tour individually. To register, you will select a ticket with a specific time slot . On arrival at your designated time you will be outfitted with gear that alters your senses (e.g., vision, hearing, touch) in order to experience some of the challenges faced by older people living with dementia. You will have an opportunity to reflect on and talk about your experience. Please allocate approximately 60 minutes for the Tour.
