This month’s speaker is SC Agriculture Commissioner candidate Fred West.

Fred West is a lifelong South Carolinian, business leader, and public servant with more than 30 years of experience in agribusiness and team leadership. A first-generation college graduate, he earned a business administration degree from the University of South Carolina through hard work and determination.

He spent more than two decades as Vice President at Amick Farms, helping lead a company employing over 3,500 people across multiple states. After retiring in 2023, Fred founded West Resources, an agriculture and governmental affairs consulting firm. He currently serves as Director of Market Development at the South Carolina Department of Agriculture and as an Agricultural Liaison to the Department of Environmental Services.

Fred is endorsed by outgoing Commissioner of Agriculture Hugh Weathers and supported by 21 State legislators.
