“Whispers of the Walls” is a guided heritage walk through Ahmedabad’s historic heart, celebrating the stories that still echo through its ancient streets and riverfront. The walk unravels the legend of Manek Baba, the mystic saint after whom Manek Chowk is named, connecting his tale with the city’s river bridges and timeless architecture that have silently witnessed centuries of change.
Led by Nirav Panchal, an experienced heritage guide, and accompanied by Soor on the soulful notes of the dotara, the walk blends storytelling, music, and history into an immersive morning experience.
Participants will explore symbolic landmarks, starting from Manek Burj at Ellisbridge Corner, and discover how each corner, structure, and wall holds whispers of Ahmedabad’s evolution, from its foundation myths to its vibrant living heritage.
The walk is part of Ahmedabad World Heritage Week, organized by Crraft Of Art, known for their engaging cultural initiatives that bring the city’s heritage to life through art and community participation. Supported by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).
It’s a free, registration-based event with limited seats, inviting history lovers, storytellers, and explorers to reconnect with the city’s spirit in a morning of nostalgia and discovery.
