15 Best Things to Do in Ahmedabad This Weekend (Feb 20–22, 2026): T20 World Cup, Arjun Kanungo & Sahitya Sarita

From cricket fever at the world's largest stadium to comedy marathons, indie music, and a three-day celebration of Gujarati literature, Ahmedabad is throwing everything at you this February 20-22, 2026.

I've lived in Ahmedabad long enough to know this city saves its energy for very specific weekends. This is one of those. The T20 World Cup lands at Narendra Modi Stadium, Arjun Kanungo closes out a college fest, Sahitya Sarita brings out the city's literary soul for three straight days, and there's enough comedy happening to fill a week. Plus a food festival that'll have you driving to Gandhinagar without any regrets.

Look, Ahmedabad does weekends differently. We don't have the late-night club culture of Mumbai or the rooftop bar scene of Bangalore. What we have is a city that packs its cultural calendar with literature festivals, Gujarati comedy that actually lands, food obsessives, and when cricket comes to town? Everything else becomes background noise.

I've pulled together the events actually worth your time this weekend, verified each one, and organized them so you can plan around what matters to you. Whether that's screaming at the Motera or laughing until your stomach hurts at a Gujarati comedy show (or both, honestly), there's something here.

How this list works: Events are organized by type, with timing details so you can plan your weekend. I've included everything from the massive (hello, T20 World Cup) to the intimate (drum circles at 6 PM). Find your vibe, check the times, and go.

1. T20 World Cup Super 8 Match at Narendra Modi Stadium

What: ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8 match at the world's largest cricket stadium. Teams TBD based on group stage results, but expect top-tier international cricket action.

Why go: This is Motera. 132,000 capacity. The atmosphere when India plays here (and there's a good chance they will, given the Super 8 schedule) is genuinely unmatched. Even if you're not a die-hard cricket fan, experiencing a World Cup match at the world's largest stadium is a bucket list moment.

Who it's for: Cricket fans, atmosphere chasers, anyone who wants to say "I was there when..." for the next twenty years.

When: Sunday, February 22, 7:00 PM IST

2. Anant National University's Big Weekend: WITH Festival + Arjun Kanungo

WITH Festival 2026

Arjun Kanungo LIVE Concert

What: Anant National University goes all out this weekend with two major draws. WITH Festival 2026 (Feb 20-21) brings the Indian chapter of a globally distributed celebration of artists, media makers, and storytellers for talks, workshops, and performances. Then Arjun Kanungo ("Baaki Baatein Peene Baad," "Fursat") headlines Anant Student Fest on Sunday evening, closing out the university's packed cultural calendar.

Why go: This is basically a two-for-one if you're willing to make the drive. WITH Festival sits at the intersection of art, technology, and storytelling, offering programming you simply won't find elsewhere in Gujarat. And Arjun Kanungo's live shows have serious energy, especially with college fest crowds that bring raw enthusiasm without arena prices. The Anant campus itself is worth the visit, particularly at night.

Who it's for: Creative professionals and storytelling enthusiasts should hit WITH Festival. Bollywood pop fans and anyone who knows every word to "Baaki Baatein" should close out Sunday with Arjun Kanungo. Or do both if you want a proper weekend immersion.

When: WITH Festival runs Friday, February 20 and Saturday, February 21 (daytime sessions). Arjun Kanungo performs Sunday, February 22, 6:00 PM onwards.

3. Sahitya Sarita 2026 (8th Edition)

What: Ahmedabad's premier literary and cultural festival returns to L.D. College of Engineering for its 8th edition, featuring competitions, literary sessions, Mushayro (Urdu poetry), and a Folk Night across three days.

Why go: This isn't your typical literature festival. Sahitya Sarita brings together Gujarati literature, Urdu poetry, folk traditions, and student creativity in a way that feels distinctly Amdavadi. The Mushayro evenings are particularly special if you appreciate poetry recitation as performance art.

Who it's for: Literature lovers, poetry enthusiasts, culture seekers, and anyone curious about Gujarat's literary traditions. Also great for students and families.

When: Friday, February 20 through Sunday, February 22

4. Amit Tandon's "Halwa" Comedy Show

Halwa by Amit Tandon

What: One of India's most popular English standup comedians brings his "Halwa" tour to Ahmedabad. The show focuses on aging, marriage (22 years and counting), and the humor found in long-term domestic life.

Why go: Amit Tandon is consistently funny in a way that connects across generations. His material about marriage and family life hits different because it's clearly mined from actual experience, not observation. This is "last tour of Halwa" so catch it before it's gone.

Who it's for: Couples, anyone in a long-term relationship who needs to laugh at the absurdity of it all, and English comedy fans who want clean humor without sacrificing sharpness.

When: Sunday, February 22, evening show

5. Amit Khuva: "Rishta-E-Relationship" & "Painfully Smiling"

Rishta-E-Relationship ft. Amit Khuva

Painfully Smiling ft. Amit Khuva

What: Ahmedabad's favorite Gujarati comedian Amit Khuva performs two different shows this weekend. "Rishta-E-Relationship" (Saturday) explores love through the lens of a "Jugaadu Amdavadi," while "Painfully Smiling" (Sunday) turns everyday pain into comedy gold.

Why go: Amit Khuva has carved out a specific lane: clean Gujarati comedy that's actually funny without relying on crude jokes. His material about being Amdavadi resonates because it's specific, not generic. If you've never seen Gujarati standup, this is the place to start.

Who it's for: Gujarati speakers who want comedy in their mother tongue, families, and anyone tired of comedy that relies on shock value.

When: Saturday, February 21, 7:30 PM ("Rishta-E-Relationship") and Sunday, February 22 ("Painfully Smiling")

6. Inder Sahani's "Daru Badnaam" India Tour

Ab Hai Aapki Bari by Inder Sahani

What: Hindi standup comedian Inder Sahani brings his "Ab Hai Aapki Bari / Daru Badnaam" special to Ahmedabad. Known for his relatable everyday humor and viral clips, this is part of his nationwide tour.

Why go: Inder Sahani has that rare quality where his material feels like a conversation with a friend who happens to be hilarious. His crowd work is solid, and he knows how to read a room. Different energy from Tandon's polished storytelling.

Who it's for: Hindi comedy fans, anyone who's seen his Instagram clips and wondered if he's as funny in person (he is), and people who appreciate comedians who can riff.

When: Saturday, February 21, 8:00 PM

7. Foodistan 4.0: Gandhinagar's Biggest Food Festival

What: The Institute of Hotel Management Ahmedabad hosts its fourth annual food festival, featuring student-created dishes, live cooking, music, and a celebration of culinary creativity.

Why go: This isn't your typical commercial food festival. IHM students treat this as their annual showcase, which means you're getting inventive dishes from future chefs trying to impress. The quality-to-price ratio is absurdly good, and the atmosphere is genuinely festive.

Who it's for: Foodies, families, anyone who likes discovering new flavors without paying restaurant prices, and supporters of culinary education.

When: Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22, 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM

8. Osho Jain Experience at Raag Mehfil

Osho Jain Experience

What: Singer-songwriter Osho Jain brings his signature blend of Sufi-folk fusion to Ahmedabad. Known for tracks like "Humara Ho Gaya" and "Tu Aisa Kaise Hai," his live performances blend soulful vocals with storytelling.

Why go: Osho Jain's music sits in that sweet spot between traditional Indian music and contemporary singer-songwriter territory. His concerts feel intimate even in larger venues, and he has a genuine connection with audiences that translates well live.

Who it's for: Indie music fans, anyone who appreciates Hindi/Sufi fusion, couples looking for a date night with substance, and people who discovered him on Instagram and want to see him live.

When: Saturday, February 21, 7:00 PM

9. Feb Sessions Funky Hat Party

Feb Sessions Funky Hat Party

What: A themed party at The Theory of Nine where the dress code is simple: wear a funky hat. Music, vibes, and good energy without the pretension of typical club nights.

Why go: Ahmedabad's nightlife can feel a bit predictable. This is the antidote. Themed parties at Theory of Nine attract a crowd that's there to have fun, not pose. The funky hat requirement basically guarantees everyone's in a good mood from the start.

Who it's for: Anyone who owns a hat they've been looking for an excuse to wear, people who want Saturday night plans without the typical club scene, and groups of friends looking for something different.

When: Saturday, February 21, 7:00 PM onwards

10. Shilp Aarambh GIFT City Run (Season 4)

Shilp Aarambh GIFT City Run 2026

What: A morning marathon at Central Park in GIFT City promoting drug-free living and community fitness. Multiple categories available for different fitness levels.

Why go: Running through GIFT City early Sunday morning is actually beautiful. The city is still quiet, the architecture looks dramatic at dawn, and there's something meaningful about running for a cause. Plus, finishing a run before most of Ahmedabad wakes up feels like a small victory.

Who it's for: Morning people, fitness enthusiasts, anyone who wants to start Sunday productively, and families (they have categories for all ages).

When: Sunday, February 22, 5:00 AM flag-off

11. Pravaah: A Morning Ride to a Secret Lake

What: A guided cycling ride starting from Sabarmati Riverfront, taking you through scenic routes to a "secret lake" location near Ahmedabad.

Why go: This is Ahmedabad at its most peaceful. Starting at 6:45 AM means cooler temperatures and empty roads, and the mystery element of a "secret lake" destination adds genuine adventure. The cycling community here is welcoming and the pace is typically leisure-friendly.

Who it's for: Cyclists of all levels, early risers, anyone who wants to discover Ahmedabad beyond the usual spots, and people who prefer experiences over passive entertainment.

When: Sunday, February 22, 6:45 AM

12. Souk: A Curated Bazaar at Cafe Venture Studio

Souk - A curated bazaar

What: A Sunday market featuring local artisans, indie brands, handmade crafts, and creative entrepreneurs. The third edition of this growing community market.

Why go: Souk is what happens when you let creative people run a market. It's curated rather than chaotic, with vendors selected for quality and originality. The cafe setting means you can browse, buy, and sit down for coffee without the typical market fatigue.

Who it's for: Shoppers looking for unique finds, supporters of local makers, anyone who appreciates handmade over mass-produced, and people who enjoy market culture.

When: Sunday, February 22, 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM

13. Rhythm and Earth Drum Circle

Rhythm and Earth Drum Circle

What: A community drum circle led by facilitator Dipanti Babulkar. No experience required, instruments provided, and the focus is on collective rhythm and expression.

Why go: Drum circles are one of those things that sound weird until you try them. There's something genuinely therapeutic about creating rhythm with strangers, and these sessions attract a mix of curious first-timers and regular attendees. It's active, social, and surprisingly fun.

Who it's for: The curious, the stressed, anyone who wants to try something genuinely different, and people who've always wondered what drum circles are actually like.

When: Sunday, February 22, 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM

14. "Order! Order! Truth on Trial" at Prayogshala

Order! Order! Truth on Trial

What: A theatrical production exploring truth, justice, and the courtroom drama format. Part of Prayogshala's ongoing commitment to experimental and thought-provoking theatre.

Why go: Prayogshala consistently produces interesting work, and this production has been running successfully since January. Courtroom dramas work well on stage when done right, and the intimate theater setting adds intensity that film can't match.

Who it's for: Theater lovers, anyone interested in drama that makes you think, and people who appreciate Ahmedabad's indie theater scene.

When: Sunday, February 22, 8:30 PM

Quick Tips for This Weekend

What's the weather like in Ahmedabad in late February? Perfect, honestly. Days are warm but not hot (high 20s°C), evenings are pleasant, and you won't be sweating through your clothes. Ideal for outdoor events like the cycling ride and food festival.

How do I get around? Ola and Uber work fine across the city. For events in Gandhinagar (Foodistan, GIFT City Run), driving or booking a cab is easiest. Parking is available at most venues but arrive early for major events.

Can I do both the T20 match and a comedy show? The cricket match starts at 7 PM and will run 3-4 hours. Comedy shows are typically 8:30 PM. You'll have to choose, unless you leave the match early (but who does that during a World Cup?).

Best food near the venues? For events around SG Highway and Bodakdev, you're surrounded by options. Law Garden for street food, Sindhu Bhavan for cafes and restaurants. For Gandhinagar events, eat at Foodistan.

Tickets selling out? The T20 World Cup match and Amit Tandon show are the ones most likely to sell out. Comedy shows in general do well on weekends. Everything else should have availability closer to the date.

Your Move

This weekend in Ahmedabad brings together cricket at the world's largest stadium, three days of literary celebration, comedy in both English and Gujarati, indie music, a food festival, a cycling adventure, and cultural programming that doesn't pretend Ahmedabad is anywhere other than exactly what it is.

Pick your priorities. Plan your logistics. And maybe bring a funky hat.
