The second largest lake in the city of Ahmedabad, Kankaria Lake is located in the Maninagar area. With various versions of its history and the reason behind its name, Kankaria Lake dates back to the 15th century (1451, precisely). Today, the revamped lakefront has a zoo, a toy train, a balloon ride, Nagina Wadi island, food stalls, and entertainment facilities! Fun fact - every year, in the last week of December, a festival called Kankaria Carnival is hosted where people enjoy musical evenings, horse shows, rock bands, laughter shows, laser shows, puppet shows, fireworks, and so much more!
