Electrical Engineering Students' Association (EESA) at Nirma University presents SCINTILLA 2k17!
Scintilla is our second flagship event - A Techfest "For Smarter and Greener Future". The format of working, here at our fest - we've developed to a fest that is not just meant for the skilled individuals but for enthusiastic learners, for those who believe in green tech and eco-friendly solutions. We have come up with entirely new set of events and workshops than at our past Techfests. There are events encompassing embedded systems, coding, electric power transmission, electromagnetics and more !
Here's a place where and when we offer you with complete assurance that your participation in events and workshops will burgeon your engineering interests. We hereby invite you all to our Techfest on the 20th-21st January of 2017 !
>> Technophilic events:
1) Bread & Cutter:
True to its name bread and cutter is our bread and butter. This is a three stage event starting with a short session on explanation of some required concepts, followed by the software debugger round and finally the on-board maker round.
2) Bid Power:
There will be half an hour session to explain about current strategies used by companies to bid power of their locality from generating stations. Then participants will be provided with small questionarre (booklet) in which they have to build a company using the finances alotted to them. They have to choose wisely while installing different devices like power factor correction equipments and fault detecting devices. So, they can survive 5 virtual days after the setting up the company. Using their bidding skills, they have to choose and act economically in order to use the optimum amount of resources.
3) Embed Smartness:
To the innovators out there, this is your chance to show us your skills. Dumb products will be given to you. Do you have the next best idea to transform that product into a smarter one? If yes dont wait, come and join us. You will also have to market the idea which you thought up of as thinking an idea is just the half mile.
Smartness is being embedded into the devices all around us. Being a hardware savvy person would take you half the way but are you smart enought to support your hardware with the required logic? Code niti is where your programming skills will be tested. You not only have to solve the problem but in a faster and efficient manner.
>> Technophobic events:
1) Join the resistance:
It's kind of an extempore event in the which the participant is required to use electrical puns and facts while stating or telling their outrage on the current events. In the second round of this tongue slipping event, a topic will be floated among the group of participants, and they have to discuss with each other using sarcasm in analogue to electrical systems.
It is a treasure hunt event, in which people will be given clues and hints related to specific tasks. They have to use their Sherlock skills to unlock the M**der mystery weaved upon the stories of famous electrical scientists. Team of 2 will be allowed in this event. They might have to take a visit to library for searching or solving the mystery.
A non-technical event. There are total two quizzes in this session. One session constitutes - Game of Throes, F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Sherlock Holmes
Second session constitues - DC vs Marvel Universe
It is basically a simulation of the placement process. This kind of mock placement really prepares the student about how the real recruitment occurs. it will be consisting of three rounds : Aptitude Test, GD & Personal Interview. It will be also consisting of Pre-placement talk session.
Aptitude Test-Group Discussion-Personal Interview---You’re on!
A initiation into the world of controllers using the most versatile UNO R3. Participants will be taught about basic operations in memory handling, timer operations, and a hands on operation on the peripherals such as LCD, keyboard, relay and even controlling of the stepper motor. Some applications related to the same will be discussed.
From designing of the power electronic circuits of a simple house to that of the ISS, powersim has been helpful. It is one of the work horses specifically designed for the
simulation and designing of power electronics domain and in use till date. Not only will you get a know-how of POWERSIM but also it will be the first step for those who
have yet to start with the simulation softwares.
>> Special Events:
It is a on-the-spot event where the participants have to move a loop from one end of a wire to another without making contact between the loop and the wire. Remember Mr. Bean?
What’s in the House?
An open house, where people can come and learn the working of the appliances in their home from the volunteers present for each appliances.
