# Event Details - **Event Name**: Into The Wreck - Reading and Conversation with Susannah Dickey - **Event Start and End Date**: Wed, 21 Oct, 2026 at 06:30 pm – Wed, 21 Oct, 2026 at 07:30 pm (+05:30) - **Event Description**: Join us for a book talk followed by a conversation with Susannah Dickey. The session is in collaboration with the Consulate General of Ireland, Mumbai.Three siblings – Anna, Gemma and Matthew – will have to work that out quickly. Monday is the day of their gentle, but distant, father’s funeral, and for the first time in a long while they are under one roof with their mother, imperious Yvonne, awaiting the arrival of their aunt Amy, an award-winning poet.Yet, as the funeral looms, their everyday concerns refuse to diminish: will newly sex-obsessed Gemma work out what she wants from life, beyond her mother’s expectations? Can Anna maintain the fine balance between desire and nonchalance with her not-quite-exclusive boyfriend back in London? Will Amy’s past explode the relationships of the present? And, crucially, will Yvonne pull off her grand, post-funeral family dinner, the solution to what she fears may be an unsolvable problem?Told from five perspectives, into the wreck worries at the knotty complexities of one family’s bonds, written with Susannah Dickey’s trademark empathy and wit.Susannah Dickey is a writer from Derry. She is the author of three novels, most recently Into The Wreck, published in April 2026. Her debut poetry collection, ISDAL, won the inaugural PEN Heaney Prize and the Michael Murphy Memorial Prize, and was a book of the year in The Guardian and The Irish Times.  - **Event URL**: https://allevents.in/ahmedabad/into-the-wreck-reading-and-conversation-with-susannah-dickey-tickets/80002577649682 - **Event Categories**: Art, literary-art - **Interested Audience**: - total_interested_count: 7 ## Ticket Details - **Ticket Price Range**: min: 0, max: 0, currency: INR - **Ticket informations**: - ticket_1 — 0.00 INR ## Event venue details - **city**: Ahmedabad - **state**: GJ - **country**: India - **location**: Arthshila Ahmedabad - **lat**: 23.0295901 - **long**: 72.539841 - **full address**: Arthshila Ahmedabad, 2G, opp. Ahmedabad Management Association, Panjara Pol, Ambawadi, Ahmedabad, Gujarat 380015, India ## Event gallery - **Alt text**: Into The Wreck - Reading and Conversation with Susannah Dickey - **Image URL**: https://cdn2.allevents.in/thumbs/thumb6acf197a9052e.jpg ## FAQs - **Q**: When and where is Into The Wreck - Reading and Conversation with Susannah Dickey being held? - **A:** Into The Wreck - Reading and Conversation with Susannah Dickey takes place on Wed, 21 Oct, 2026 at 06:30 pm to Wed, 21 Oct, 2026 at 07:30 pm at Arthshila Ahmedabad, 2G, opp. Ahmedabad Management Association, Panjara Pol, Ambawadi, Ahmedabad, Gujarat 380015, India. - **Q**: Who is organizing Into The Wreck - Reading and Conversation with Susannah Dickey? - **A:** Into The Wreck - Reading and Conversation with Susannah Dickey is organized by Arthshila Ahmedabad. - **Q**: What has been the experience of attendees at Arthshila Ahmedabad's events? - **A:** Attendees have given Arthshila Ahmedabad a rating of 4.33/5 based on reviews from early attendees on AllEvents.
