The workshop will be held in the dry deciduous hill-forest of Tikhimagari (Gova Hills), a pristine habitat in the Aravalli range in Sabarkantha (Gujarat). This is 150 kms from Ahmedabad. We will explore various ecological niches of the forest by trekking on several trails, during day and night. The forest is home to over 148 species of birds, over 15 species of mammals, over 30 species of herps, and many invertebrates. We will stay in Adam’s Nature Retreat – a responsible campsite with all basic facilities. Accommodation will be on shared basis in dormitories with attached bathroom and toilet.
We will organize pickup from and drop back to Ahmedabad.
Soham Mukherjee – herpetologist and wildlife biologist (member, IUCN SSC Viper Specialist Group & Crocodile Specialist Group) will run the workshop.
