# Event Details - **Event Name**: Saturday Coastal Sage Scrub Restoration: Cheeseboro Canyon - **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 08 Nov, 2025 at 09:00 am – Sat, 27 Dec, 2025 at 12:00 pm - **Event Description**: Join National Park Service and the Santa Monica Mountains Fund at Cheeseboro Canyon to help restore the area with California native plants!About this EventWork will consist of planting hundreds of live plants grown from locally collected seed. Our goal for this restoration project is to establish a native biodiverse ecosystem in areas that have historically been ranched. This activity is appropriate for ages 5 and up. No experience required!The event will run from 9 am to 12 pm.Be prepared for the day:Closed-toed shoes, sun protective layers, and a refillable water bottle are required at the event. Long pants, long sleeves, and a hat are strongly encouraged. We will supply tools, gloves, and training.Directions:5792 Chesebro Road, Agoura, CA 91301Ventura Fwy (101) to Chesebro Rd exit. Turn north on Palo Comado Canyon Rd then right on Chesebro Rd. Go north 1 mile to park entrance. Turn right and follow road to parking lot.Park in the main parking lot located at the end of the road (see attachment below), a staff member will be waiting at the sign in table. After checking in, you will be lead on a 20 minute walk to the restoration area.Other things to note:Please arrive on time, we hope to not have our limited staff waiting too long for late arrivals. Take everything you need for planting and try not to leave valuables in your vehicle, the restoration site is about a mile from the parking lot.
