Friday Restoration: Cheeseboro Canyon - Coastal Sage Scrub

Work will consist of planting hundreds of live plants grown from locally collected seed. Our goal for this restoration project is to establish a native biodiverse ecosystem in areas that have historically been ranched. This activity is appropriate for ages 5 and up. No experience required!

The event will run from 9 am to 12 pm.

Be prepared for the day:

Closed-toed shoes, sun protective layers, and a refillable water bottle are required at the event. Long pants, long sleeves, and a hat are strongly encouraged. We will supply tools, gloves, and training.

Directions:

5792 Chesebro Road, Agoura, CA 91301

Ventura Fwy (101) to Chesebro Rd exit. Turn north on Palo Comado Canyon Rd then right on Chesebro Rd. Go north 1 mile to the park entrance. Turn right and follow the road to the parking lot.

Park in the main parking lot located at the end of the road (see attachment below), a staff member will be waiting at the sign in table. After checking in, you will be lead on a 20 minute walk to the restoration area.

Other things to note:

Please arrive on time, we hope to not have our limited staff waiting too long for late arrivals. Take everything you need for planting and try not to leave valuables in your vehicle, the restoration site is about a mile from the parking lot. Safety is most important, if you are not feeling well we ask you to stay home and join us on a later date when you’re feeling better.
