Drawing on decades of Buddhist practice and experience, Ven Tony will share down-to-earth advice on how to nurture wisdom, compassion, and calm amidst the challenges of everyday life.

Topics covered will include:
- Afflictions of the mind, how they arise, and how to deal with them
- The Buddhist understanding of effort
- Karma, and how it can help us take personal responsibility for our actions
- How to develop acceptance of both good and bad situations
- Forgiveness for self and others
- The Four Immeasurable Thoughts

Like a lotus that blossoms from the mud, our spiritual growth can flourish and grow continuously when we learn to transform daily experiences into opportunities for awakening.

Venerable Tony Beaumont first met the Dharma in Nepal and India in 1976, then trained and worked as a psychiatric nurse. Following ordination as a monk in 1991, he studied and taught for many years at monasteries in France and Australia. He has led retreats and courses at dharma centres throughout the world, as well as teaching in prisons and schools.

The course is held over 3 weeks (6 sessions) on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7pm (SA time, GMT+09:30), both in-person at Buddha House in Magill, SA and streaming online. Students are welcome to attend all sessions (in-person or online), or drop-in to any single session (in-person only).
