Unlike conventional cyber attacks that target specific assets or data, IA events exploit systemic network behaviour to trigger cascading effects, resulting in widespread latency, instability, and in some cases, random termination of services. This session will provide a technical overview of how Internet Avalanche attacks are initiated and propagated. Through practical examples, the presentation will examine how IA manifests in real-world networks, how it can be identified, and the indicators of compromise or degradation that engineers should monitor and how to proactively adapt systems to reduce exposure.Speaker - Dr Walter Green,Director CEG Pty Ltd.Walter graduated with degrees in Electronics and Computer Science and his PhD was in Computer Engineering.
