Blending left-of-centre altpop with indie folk-rock, her emotionally honest songwriting explores identity, queerness, faith, mental health and heartbreak. Drawing comparisons to Kate Bush, Florence + The Machine, Wolf Alice and Phoebe Bridgers, she moves between intimate solo live-looping performances and expansive full-band shows.Winner of Best Live Act in South Australia at the 2020 National Live MusicAwards, My Chérie has performed at WOMADelaide, supported Lenny Kravitz and Jet at the BP Grand Final, and shared stages with Crash Test Dummies, Montaigne, Mia Wray, Skunkhour, Daryl Braithwaite, and The Beautiful Girls.Her music has received support from triple j and editorial playlisting across Spotify and Apple Music.*Bree Tranter was originally confirmed as the songwriting mentor, however due to unforeseen circumstances can no longer join. We welcome My Cherie and thank participants for their understanding.Recording & Production: Bethan MaddisonBethan is an Adelaide-based producer, recording, mix and mastering engineer with more than a decade of studio experience across the city’s indie, pop and alternative music scenes. Founder of Pretty Good Studio, she is passionate about mentoring emerging producers and engineers, while remaining deeply involved in Adelaide’s music community through workshops, collaborations and her own musical practice.APRA AMCOS recognises that ‘gender diverse’ embodies a variety of ways people experience gender, including non-binary, trans, gender non-conforming, other non-cis male gender expressions and more. This is an alcohol free event.This event is open to participants aged 16+.
