All Creatures Great and Small exhibition is a visual and diverse collection of artwork. Come and experience this mixed media display that celebrates all aspects of our earth’s creatures. Both realistic and conceptual artworks will be portrayed such as insects, wildlife, pets, birds and mythical animals. There is more than 30 artists work in this exhibition and visitors can expect to see a wide variety including painting, drawing, sculpture, textiles, ceramics, woodwork and mixed media.
Works range from the large scale metalwork sculptures depicting animals and various creatures by John Steicke to the photorealistic paintings by Annette Dawson and Lorraine Brown. Textile artist, Marzena Kaczmarek, has lovely abstract felted merino wool and hand dyed silk fabric pieces. There is also some striking and vibrant jewellery and stunning ceramics that will be showcased.
The exhibition will be on display at Pepper Street Arts Centre, 558 Magill Road, Magill, an arts and cultural initiative funded by the City of Burnside. The opening will be on Sunday 16 February 2019 from 2 pm – 4 pm, with a number of fun activities at the launch including live music, artist demonstrations and more. In addition to the launch activities there will be different artist demonstrations on each of the Saturday afternoons throughout the exhibition from 2 pm – 4 pm.
Entry is free and the artworks are for sale, all are welcome. The exhibition will run until Friday 20 March 2020 closing at 3 pm on the last day. Pepper Street Arts Centre’s open hours are Tuesday to Friday 10 am – 5 pm and Saturday 12 noon – 5 pm.
