Generously funded by David and Pam McKee and the Lang Foundation.
The British School at Rome (BSR) Residency is an opportunity for an emerging South Australian artist to undertake a three-month residency at BSR, Britain’s leading humanities research institute abroad and one of the most prestigious foreign academies in the Italian capital.
The chosen candidate is allocated studio space at the BSR, including residential accommodation and a working area. Taking place over April – June, the residency provides the selected artist with the opportunity to base and develop their practice at BSR, while taking full advantage of the School’s world-renowned research facilities, the artistic community and expertise available.
Based in one of the world’s most culturally rich cities, a residency at BSR will also allow the artist to immerse themselves in the culture and the artistic history of Rome.
