The Village of Addison is pleased to announce its Spring Community Recycling Event, scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the Addison Public Works Department, located at 1491 W Jeffrey Dr. This event is open exclusively to Addison residents, and proof of residency is required.
This annual event provides residents with a convenient and environmentally friendly way to dispose of various recyclable items. Several collection stations will be available, each accepting specific materials:
STATION 1: BLH COMPUTERS ELECTRONICS RECYCLING Accepted items include smoke detectors, answering machines, battery backups, camcorders, cameras, cell phones, computer peripherals, desktop computers, DVD/CD players, fax machines, ink cartridges, laptops, networking equipment, power tools (including batteries), printers, projectors, radios, receivers, satellite and cable equipment, shredders, speakers, smart phones, surge suppressors, tablets, telephones, toner, VCRs, video game consoles, walkie-talkies, CRT/LCD monitors, and televisions (limit of two per vehicle).
STATION 2: PROSHRED Residents may bring documents for secure shredding (limit of three boxes per vehicle).
STATION 3: SCARCE Accepted items include books, records, ink jet cartridges, X-ray film, musical instruments, eyeglasses, holiday lights, keys, and Brita filters/accessories.
STATION 4: ADDISON VFW Residents can recycle flags and hearing aids.
STATION 5: REPUBLIC SERVICES GENERAL RECYCLING Accepted items include cardboard, metal cans, glass bottles and jars, paper, plastic bottles and jugs, and cartons.
STATION 6: VILLAGE OF ADDISON Fluorescent lamps (4-foot and 8-foot) will be accepted.
Items NOT Accepted: Hazardous waste, furniture, prescription or over-the-counter drugs, and microwaves.
