Notice is hereby given that an election will be held in the Town of Ackerman, Mississippi, on August 11, 2026, between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, at Town Hall, 45 East Main Street, Ackerman, Mississippi, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of the Town of Ackerman the question of whether there shall be levied a two percent (2%) tax upon the gross proceeds of sales of prepared food and drinks at restaurants within the corporate limits of the Town of Ackerman, Mississippi. 
 
The purpose of the proceeds of this 2% tax will be used exclusively to promote tourism and parks and recreation within the Town. 
 
All qualified electors of the Town of Ackerman shall be entitled to vote in said election.
