DengLocation: Abu Dhabi, UAEDay 1: The first day offers a concise yet comprehensive overview of matrix acidizing in carbonate formations. The session begins with a discussion of the potential benefits of acid stimulation, followed by a review of the fundamentals of acidizing in both sandstone and carbonate reservoirs.Key concepts specific to carbonate acidizing—including the wormholing phenomenon—are explored in detail. Participants will also examine current modeling approaches used to predict acidizing outcomes and guide stimulation design.The course covers common acid placement techniques such as ball sealers, particulate diversion, and viscous diversion. Finally, the evolution of skin factor as a diagnostic tool for evaluating treatment success is discussed and illustrated using field examples.Day 2: Building on the theoretical foundation from Day 1, Day 2 will focus on applying matrix acidizing principles using StimPlan™. This hands-on session will be conducted in a classroom setting and will involve working through a detailed case history of a carbonate oil reservoir. Participants will receive guided instruction on using StimPlan™ to model matrix acidizing treatments, followed by discussion and review of additional examples to reinforce key concepts.*This course includes 3 week access to StimPlan™ V8 Cloud (20 hours run time included)*A complete set of course materials is included in this course.Participants will need to bring a laptop with Microsoft Excel to each day of this courseCancellation/Transfer Policy: A minimum of 10 business days’ notice is required to cancel the enrollment, otherwise the tuition fee is forfeited or remains due if not already paid. Cancellation requests received 10 business-days or greater will be honored and tuition refunded.Transfers to future sessions of participants from the same company will be permitted if notice is given within 6 business days. Substitution of participants from the same company will be permitted. Notice of substitution must be received 24 hours prior to the course start.Please contact NSI if you need to cancel, transfer or substitute.NSI reserves the right to cancel any session at any time. The decision to cancel is generally made one week before the session. We reserve the right to substitute course instructors as necessary.
