- **Event Description**: On Sunday, June 1, at 7:00pm, Music at Abington presents UNACCOMPANIED, an immigration themed solo performance project featuring newly commissioned works by immigrant and first generation American composers. Cello soloist and project coordinator, Leo Eguchi, will also lead a Sunday morning Forum Class (8:45-9:40am in the Abington Presbyterian Church Parlor Rm 113) reflecting on this project. 
Leo notes “It is difficult to have a meaningful conversation about immigration these days. The issues have touched all of our families, yet there are entrenched obstacles to being able to speak, share, and (most importantly) listen about it.”

The Sunday evening concert will be presented in the intimacy of the Parish Hall as Leo presents video introductions to each of the composers and pieces before playing them. The original 8 pieces of the project have been expanded to include composers with personal roots and connections to indigenous American cultural heritage. The concert will also feature a newly co-commissioned *world premiere* by recent MAA guest soloist Ajibola Rivers. Outreach FUNDRAISING! All concert donations are being given to The Welcoming Center (Fostering a Thriving Community Through Immigrant Inclusion) as part of MAA’s annual outreach/mission concert program. Learn more about The Welcoming Center at their website: https://welcomingcenter.org/
