The City of Abilene will host its State of the City address on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Abilene Convention Center Conference Center, 1100 North Sixth Street.

The event begins at 3 p.m. and will highlight the City’s progress, priorities and vision as Abilene marks 145 years since its founding in 1881.

The event comes at a defining moment for Abilene, as transformative shifts in technology influence how residents live, work and connect — and how local government serves them.

This year's program will feature several insightful discussions around the topics affecting our day-to-day lives including the construction of data centers in our area, the major expansion efforts getting underway at Dyess Air Force Base, and recent changes to our housing and rental market.

We'll also get to spend some time visiting with local historian Jay Moore to reflect upon our city's first 145 years, and how our past can provide insight into the opportunities and possibilities that lie ahead.
