- **Event Description**: The Abilene Texas Skywarn group, the National Weather Service and the Key City Amateur Radio Club will be hosting the 2026 Abilene Skywarn training Saturday February 28th, 2026.

All individuals interested in receiving spotter training and learning about Amateur Radio's involvement in Skywarn are invited to attend. The class will be held in the  Hart Auditorium of Abilene Christian University (1850 Teague Blvd., Abilene, Texas) on Saturday, February 28th, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The class is free and open to the public. No registration is needed for the class. Come learn about the basics of severe weather and how to report severe weather to the NWS. In addition, we will have members of the Lonestar Storm Chasers group give a short presentation. For more information on Skywarn training, please go to our webpage at weather.gov/sjt/skywarn.
