An opportunity to explore traditional hand quilting and sewing techniques that utilise scrap fabric and a simple running stitch to create a vibrant, textured quilt.
You will begin a coaster, placemat or wall hanging to finish at home, where you can apply what you’ve learned to starting larger projects.
You will learn how to:
select appropriate fabrics and materials
place and attach fabric pieces using a running stitch
incorporate embroideries and ‘found objects’ such as leaves, shells and beads
finish the quilt
Needles, thread, pins and batting will be provided. Please bring your own fabric scraps and a piece of fabric to back your quilt with – or fabric can be provided for an additional £5 on the day.
