# Event Details - **Event Name**: Wild Rambling and Pilates in the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons) - **Event Start and End Date**: Fri, 15 May, 2026 at 03:00 pm – Mon, 18 May, 2026 at 12:00 pm (+00:00) - **Event Description**: I know that some of you have said that you would like to do a Rambling and Pilates weekend when it’s slightly warmer than January! I've booked a lovely group of cottages near Abergavenny in the Brecon Beacons for a Wild Rambling holiday this year, and Sarah and I thought it would be perfect for an early summer weekend getaway in 2026. We will have sole use of Wern-y-Cwm Farm, a Grade II listed farmstead dating from 1570: comprising of the huge Farmhouse, extensive Dairy, and cosy Cider House. Situated on the Skirrid Mountain, it has views across Monmouthshire to Gloucestershire and Bristol. We’ll have access to a hot tub, and there is a natural outdoor swimming pool, picnic spots, and grass amphitheatre, all set in extensive wildflower meadows dotted with ancient oak trees. There’s also a cinema room, sauna, and a disco den with a glitterball! The Skirrid Mountain is a short walk across their fields; ideal for a little jaunt before breakfast (just joking). The weekend will follow the same format as the January one, with walks and Pilates sessions and good food. There’s also an in-house therapist if you’d like some extra TLC. We are totally spoiled for choice with walks nearby. As this is a smaller venue, there will be one walk on offer each day with me of approx 6-8 miles. However, if you’d rather not walk, and do your own thing during the day, that is totally fine. The bedrooms are individually and luxuriously decorated - there are some with ensuites, and some share a bathroom with one other room, but that will be reflected in the cost. All rooms can be taken for single occupancy, or can be shared. All meals are included, except for the Saturday night, when we may eat out in a local pub (to be confirmed, not included in the cost). Please note: there is another Wild Rambling walking holiday immediately afterwards, from the 18th to 22nd May, so you do have the option to extend your holiday (although there will be no Pilates sessions). Also worth noting, that Hay Festival usually runs the weekend after, so you are in the area if you want to book tickets to that.
