But what brings me to this work isn't just my training — it's lived experience of the very things many of you are navigating right now.Alongside Reiki, I'm a Somatic Therapist trained in Compassionate Inquiry — the approach developed by Dr Gabor Maté. This means I understand deeply how the body holds stress, trauma, and emotion, and how healing happens not just through the mind but through felt, embodied experience. It shapes everything about how I teach and how I hold a space.During perimenopause, I received a late ADHD diagnosis — something that happens to so many women when hormonal shifts make previously managed symptoms impossible to ignore. It was one of the biggest health challenges I've ever faced, and Reiki became a cornerstone of how I got through it: supporting my nervous system, improving my sleep, and helping me find steadiness on the hardest days.Reiki also walked with me through my IVF journey. In the tender, uncertain space of fertility treatment, it gave me a way to stay connected to my body and release the anxiety I was carrying rather than holding it in. I now have two children, and Reiki is still woven into our family life every day.I share all of this because I want you to know: when I teach, I'm not reading from a textbook.
