He graduated from Cambridge University with a first class degree in History, since when he has worked as an archaeologist, historian, researcher, postman, roofer, builder and barman. The Wicked of the Earth is his first published work of fiction. ​

The Wicked of the Earth by A.D. Bergin is a historical thriller set in 1650 Newcastle following the city's witch trials, where Parliamentarian spy James Archer investigates the suspicious deaths of women connected to the trials. Archer becomes entangled in the dark underbelly of Newcastle, a world of lies, power struggles over the coal trade, and conspiracies, as he seeks his missing sister and must set himself as bait to expose the truth and escape the dangerous landscape of Interregnum England.

He will be visiting alongside trauma informed therapist, Dawn Walton, as they are both attending Angus Book Festival and car sharing up here!
