Celebrating Agatha Christie, this year being the 50th anniversary of her death, Haddo House is delighted to announce we are screening TWO Agatha Christie films this year; the first being Murder on the Orient Express, produced & directed by Kenneth Branagh.

Based on Christie's 1934 novel, this latest screen version has a stella cast including Branagh as Hercule Poirot, performing alongside Tom Batemen, Penelope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Derek Jacobi, Michelle Pfeiffer and Daisy Ridley.

Sumptuously set in the 1930s, the plot follows Poirot, a world-renowned Belgian detective, as he investigates a murder on the luxury train, the Orient Express.

AND, adding an extra dimension to the evening, and for a special few (those quickest off the mark!) we, at Haddo House, have created a mini, film-linked tour to precede the screening: a rare and fascinating delve into the Aberdeen Family’s passion for trains and train travel - a chance to hear some untold stories and see parts of the house not usually shared with the public, including the special treat of visiting Haddo’s Attics to see the Family’s trainset in situ.

This mini tour has limited capacity due to the locations it visits, so only 20 tickets are available across 2 time slots. Snap them up – don’t miss out! (NB: There are stairs, many stairs! The attics are not accessible by the lift.)

This movie screening will be in Haddo’s sumptuously atmospheric and elegant Library. No better location to sit back and enjoy this film version of one of Britain’s most classic pieces of literature.
