Paul Black is a true blues man. Picking up guitar at 18, he had the pleasure of attending a Stevie Ray Vaughn concert, and realized what style of music he wanted to play. Since then he has studied many of the Blues Greats and adapted his style to match theirs. Originally from Terrace, Paul Black moved to the Island and settled in Victoria. His passion for the Blues is obvious and he gets the dance floor hopping.
Paul has jumped onto the International scene winning first place in the Song of the Year competition for his song “About You,” beating out thousands of entries for the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. The competition is judged purely on songwriting and lyrics with judges ranging from Capitol Records to Norah Jones to Universal Music manager Stephanie Wright, who has worked with Sting, U2, The Black Eyed Peas and Stevie Wonder.
In 2010 Paul released his 2nd album Blue Words with rave reviews and international rotation in Europe and the US, he has enjoyed success selling albums world wide and been captivating audiences with his live performances. Paul released his third album, Beautiful Sin, March 1, 2024.
