PAPANGU (BR) is a prominent prog-metal-folk band from João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brazil.

They come back to Aalborg with their new, full-analog LP Celestial (2026), recorded days after a crazy fun gig at Fryd!

Expect a mindblowing blend of the texture and heaviness of stoner and sludge metal with Brazilian syncopated rhythms, traditional harmonies of Northeastern Brazil, and the dissonant experiments of modern jazz fusion and avant-metal.

PAPANGU (BR) 

Papangu is an experimental rock band that blends the traditional harmonies and rhythms of Northeastern Brazil with black metal, jazz fusion, and bold prog rock. 

Formed in 2012 in the easternmost point of the Americas, the band has made a name for itself through high-octane, unpredictable live performances and two colossal, critically acclaimed concept albums: the apocalyptical, eco-conscious metal of Holoceno (2021) and the magical-realist tale of banditry that is Lampião Rei (2024). 

Now, with their new, full-analog LP Celestial (2026), Papangu makes a firm statement against the so-called "artificial intelligence" and is poised to once again present their “virtuoso prog-metal-folk” (The Guardian) to European audiences.

Celestial will be out on August 7th, 2026, via Deck.

Gilded Rot (formerly Drosophila) is a death metal band from Aalborg, delivering an intense, dark and heavy atmosphere through groovy and melodic riffs and aggressive vocals. Their songs explore the evil within and around us, both as individuals and as a society, as well as the downfall of mankind.
The band was formed in Aalborg in 2024 and made their live debut at 1000Fryd in March 2026 with a sold-out concert. Following their debut, they were selected to compete in the Port of Hell Metal Battle at Rocken Aalborg. Since then, they have been working on new material and developing their sound. In
