The 50th anniversary celebration
ONE NIGHT ONLY
Saturday November 23rd at 9:30pm

Toronto, ON – December 3, 2012 – The Canadian Comedy Award nominated improvised show Doctor Whom is back, and this time we're celebrating the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who. It's been 50 years of great storytelling and we can think of no better way than to re imagine the 50th anniversary special that will simulcast around the world on the very same day.
Bolstered by the very best improvisers in the country, including Anand Rajaram (Second City, Stratford), Matt Baram (Second City, Seeds) and Alastair Forbes (Second City, Bonspiel), the audience will be treated to their very own Doctor Who episode. The Doctor and his faithful companions will dart between the past, present and future; from distant stars to our own humble blue-green planet. They will uncover hideous aliens, ominous mysteries and ultimately a sinister master-plot that – of course – threatens all of time and space!
It's a big date for Doctor Who fans the world over. So producers of the sci-fi series have made sure devotees who happen to live outside the UK won't be left behind by the decision to broadcast the 50th anniversary special simultaneously.
The special episode, will be screened on November 23 - 50 years to the day that William Hartnell made his first appearance as the first ever Doctor.
BBC Worldwide have struck a deal for to show the special in over 200 UK cinemas, many in 3D.
Steven Moffat, the executive producer of the episode, said: 'The Doctor has always been a time traveller - now he's travelling time zones.
'On the 23rd of November, it won't be the bad guys conquering the Earth - everywhere, it will be the Day of the Doctor.'
