The idea of a Newtown Neighborhood Reunion has been on the minds of
many for years so a few decided to put the idea to action. This past July we
did just that and the response was phenomenal.We had over 200 in attendance and many decided that we should do it again, and this time include a formal affair. Keeping in mind our promise to give back to our community,it was decided that along with the fun and games, we would establish a $500.00 scholarship fund to award to a graduating Wossman High School Senior, a school supply give away to students K-5, and a $100 stipend to a middle schooler toward school uniforms.
A meeting was held Sunday, August, 27, 2011 at 4pm by members of the planning committees.
An itinerary was confirmed and it is as follows:
Friday, July 13, 2012: Scholarship Dinner/Dance

7pm-12 cost $40.00
Saturday, July 14 Family Day Picnic
250 Country Club Dr,
10 am-7pm. cost $10.00 per family of 4
Sunday, July 15 Sunday Funday
2 pm-8 pm
The $40.00 cost associated with the dinner/dance provides for the cost of the scholarship, the school supply give away, the venue, decor, and catering services. The caterer is providing their services free of charge to ensure that we will be able to meet our goal to provide the scholarships. The Newtown Community will only provide the cost of the food only to the caterer.
Transportation will be provided to and from the venue on Saturday to accomodate those without transportation.
We will need volunteers to get this done but we can do it.
We will not be accepting cash as payment, only checks and money orders.
