A 90 min group riding session on a purpose built, floodlit 1km closed road circuit. Riders will be grouped in ability and challenged technically & physically in a safe environment. Riding in small groups , cornering , race scenarios. etc. This WILL NOT be a smashfest and coaches will be mindful of athletes training needs. The aim of these sessions are to better prepare athletes for the season ahead, (not waiting until spring to ride on a wheel) ensuring a safe environment through the winter months, away from traffic and dirty roads.

What will the sessions cover? These sessions will compliment your cycling sessions in your home/club environments and better prepare you for the season ahead. You will be challenged physically, technically & tactically - Group riding, cornering, race scenarios etc and maybe a little fun included 🙂 Athletes will be grouped by ability.

Who are the sessions for? Midlands Academy, affiliate, development squad athletes, Midalnds Triathlon series athletes.These sessions are a great opportunity to bring everyone together between academy/development days.

What you need to bring with you:

• Clean road bike in good working order - please check your bike pre session, we haven't got time to fix bikes!
• Helmet & gloves - no gloves - no ride!
• Spare tubes, pump, tyre levers, minitool - all that fit YOUR bike
• Appropriate clothing for the weather and session type.
• 2 full bottles & snacks
• Enough food & drink; pre , during and post session and travelling home
• Please prepare your food and think about meal timings and travelling time - good nutrition choices means quicker recovery
• Kit bag with overshoes/toes covers, thicker gloves , spare clothes - Top Tip: bring more kit than you think you need! Closed road circuits are always exposed - wind etc AND you live in England!!!
