- **Event Description**: The British Centres for Business (BCB) which was founded in Dubai earlier in the year is part of a global network of support initiatives for British exporters and SMEs.  In the latter half of 2014 the project has got underway in Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia and we are delighted to welcome the leaders from each market to Dubai.  They will brief members in a panel discussion on developments in their respective countries and how they can support British business looking to develop commercial opportunities in each market. The discussion will then be followed by a Q&A session.

Joe Hepworth
CEO, British Centers for Business, UAE

Joe Hepworth is the 'architect' and first CEO of the British Centres for Business (BCB).  He is responsible for developing and delivering the Overseas Business Network initiative (OBNi) in the UAE, working in collaboration with local governments, UKTI and the British Business Groups in both cities. 

Joe is married with two young daughters, both born in Dubai.  He enjoys Stand-Up Paddleboarding and any sports which involve beating Australia.    

   
Peter Cook
Managing Director, British Chamber of Commerce Project, Qatar
 
Peter is a Former career diplomat with FCO. His recent overseas postings were as Consul General in Belgium and Deputy Consul General in Istanbul. In both jobs he led the UK Trade and Investment effort to support British business and boost UK exports and trade.  Was also previously posted to Qatar from 1989-1992 during the first Gulf War and led the commercial effort following the conflict helping win new business for UK worth well over £1 billion. Most recently Peter served in London leading the Foreign Office contribution to Lord Green's Overseas Chambers Project. That experience and his background in supporting SME businesses in other challenging markets alongside his knowledge of Qatar and the Gulf, lend themselves ideally for his new role managing the newly established British Chamber of Commerce in Qatar.

Peter is a keen golfer, sports enthusiast and whisky export ambassador. Combining all three on the same day is his ideal challenge!
 
   
Martin Hall
CEO, Kuwait British Business Centre
 
Martin has over a decade of Trade & Investment experience developed from supporting UK companies in numerous sectors and in many international markets.  Martin arrived in Kuwait after the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, where he was an integral part of the team that devised, developed and delivered the UK's economic benefit strategy from hosting the World's biggest multi sports event.  Until recently Martin was the Head of Trade & Investment at the British Embassy Kuwait.  Martin is supported in Kuwait by his wife Vicki and two daughters, Lily and Sophie.
 
  
Chris Innes Hopkins
UK Executive Director of Saudi British Joint Business Council
 
Chris Innes-Hopkins was appointed UK Executive Director of the Saudi British Joint Business Council (SBJBC) in March 2014, and CEO of SBJBC UK in July 2014. 
Chris is responsible for establishing a long-term vision and strategy for SBJBC UK, including cooperation with UKTI/BCC and delivery of services under the Overseas Business Networks Initiative. He has wide economic, political and commercial experience of the Middle East & North Africa. Previous Diplomatic Service posts include Commercial Counsellor and Director of UK Trade & Investment in Saudi Arabia; Deputy Head of Mission in Kuwait; Economic & Commercial Counsellor in Ankara; and Consul General in Jerusalem. He has also worked as a senior adviser to BG Egypt, the Middle East Association, the Egyptian Minister of Trade & Industry and the EU Special Envoy to the Middle East.
