Martial's Marauders is gearing up for its 5th year in The Great Stationary Bike Race in support of The Cerebral Palsy Association of Manitoba. The Association is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals affected by Cerebral Palsy through programs, advocacy, education, and peer support. I have been a member of the association for most of my life. I have received support from the association. Also I had a great opportunity to work for them in the past.

Martial's Marauders always finishes in the top ten out of the teams. We need your donations/pledges! There is three ways to donate this year. All donations over $10 receive a tax receipt.

I am looking for 3 more team members contacted me if you are interested.

Your check will be cashed shortly after March 10th, 2012. Please include your mailing address so I can mail you your tax receipt.

Funds are use for:

•Information, referral and support to individuals with Cerebral Palsy and their Families.

•Presentations on Cerebral Palsy.

•Lending library.

•Keep members and interested persons informed of resources and activities available to persons with Cerebral Palsy.

•Provide grants for mobility and communication equipment to members upon application.

•Award educational scholarships to individuals with Cerebral Palsy.

•Personal Support Worker.

Programs consist of:

•Summer Retreats

•Christmas Dinner and party

•Support workers so individuals can get out and do things

•Outings and special events for individuals with Cerebral Palsy.

Each team consists of 14 riders and each rider collects pledges totaling at least $100. Each Team has a Captain (or Co-captains who coordinates the team of riders. Each rider cycles for 25 minutes. The race day begins at 9:30 AM and ends at 5:30 PM but riders only need to come for their ride time. The first rider cycles at 10 AM and the last rider cycles at 4:30 PM and the other 12 riders are assigned a ride time by the captain #on the hour and on the half hour). There is 5 minutes between each ride for the bike adjustments by the pit crew. Bike teams are represented by families, corporations, local businesses, community groups, schools, and other organizations.
