The demo will give an introduction to the making of combustible joss stick incense for daily, magickal and religious use. Cost of the course is a minimum donation of $20 & includes a small 'starter' kit for making incense as well as a hand-out.

The demo will give general information about incense, its history, use and composition will be covered, as well as the materials necessary and where to find them. Techniques for preparing various ingredients for incense making, general principles and practices to be observed when making incense and so on will also be covered. Samples of various incense ingredients will be burned, and students will be encouraged to write down their impressions of the scents. If time permits, some sample recipes might be tried.

A second course (if interest warrants) will be offered to students from the first class. This class will focus on the creation of recipes (students will be encouraged to create these before the class, but in-class recipes are also fine). The second class will be much more hands on.
