An eclectic two-person band from East Vancouver, British Columbia. With a wide variety of influences, ranging from traditional blues to folk to rock & roll, this pair has a unique style of music that appeals to many tastes. Their raw, stripped down sound and soulful melodies bring a refreshing simplicity to today’s music scene.
From captivating and intimate acoustic tunes to strong, blues driven songs with an electric edge, this is THE SHOES deliver a powerful live performance. Since forming in late 2011, the duo has graced many stages in Metro Vancouver - and they’re just getting started.
this is THE SHOES are on a mission to revive the soul and passion from music of the past, ushering it in to the 21st century.

For Paolo, life has never been without music. He completed Royal Conservatory Training in piano and honed his performance skills playing with various bands growing up. However, it wasn’t until university, while completing a Bachelor’s of Education, that Paolo began to take his own song writing seriously.
With music as the ultimate outlet, he found himself spending hours pouring out songs, and delving deep into the biographies of his favourite songwriters, such as Brian Wilson, Paul Simon and Paul McCartney, in attempts to unravel their musical talents.
While both performance and writing are a love of Paolo’s, what it really comes down to for this dedicated musician is the power of every song to tell a story, and to help us connect to our own experiences and to each other.
It is the absolute need to play music and write lyrics, that drive this contemplative artist to continue his mission of creating authentic lyrics and songs that ring true for all who hear them.
