JIN AKANISHI, #1 iTunes artist is scheduled to release his highly anticipated U.S. debut album, “JAPONICANA”

JIN AKANISHI is set to ROCK a multi-city concert tour at venues throughout the U.S. in March 2012

Iconic Japanese super star and ground-breaking U.S. crossover artist, Jin Akanishi, has set a release date for his highly anticipated U.S. debut album titled “JAPONICANA.” This album will showcase dynamic beats and stirring lyrics in continuation of his recent highly successful #1 iTunes single, “Test Drive featuring Jason Derulo.” Multiple tracks in the album were produced by Grammy Award-nominated trio, the Stereotypes, who have produced hit songs for acts such as Far East Movement and Ne-Yo. Platinum hit- maker, Static Revenger, with artist credits from Madonna to Shakira, also has a hand in production work on the album.

“JAPONICANA” will be available for purchase in-stores, through iTunes and all major digital retailers starting Tuesday, March 6th at 7:00AM PST. A five (5) city U.S. tour will immediately follow the album release.

Akanishi’s debut U.S. album will showcase his unique talents as a singer, songwriter and producer. Songs written and produced by Jin will also be interwoven in the album. This has been a new beginning for Akanishi, a seasoned superstar in much of Asia, starting from his widely successful debut single to an upcoming release of another anticipated hit single, “Sun Burns Down,” and now the official announcement of his debut U.S. album, “JAPONICANA.” An avant-garde collaboration on the album with original MC & rapper, Prophet, who currently has a deal with mega producer, RedOne, is just one of the new sounds Jin will be showing the world. “This album has songs from all different genres,” states Akanishi, “I feel like this album has no boundaries, since you can’t really put all the tracks into one genre. It’s a collection of music and sounds that I love. The name of the album is a coinage of all the places that greatly influence me – Japan, America & Spain. I hope my fans will enjoy it.”
